Dr Abby McClure
Osteopath
B.Sc, B.Cl.Sc, M.H.SC
I hold a Bachelor of Science from The University of Melbourne, a Bachelor of Clinical Science and Masters of Osteopathy from Victoria University in Melbourne. I am a member of Osteopathy Australia and registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Osteopathy uses a holistic approach to health care. When it comes to treating patients, I believe in not only treating the pain or the symptoms but by identifying the cause of the problem. I like to use a multidisciplinary approach to treatment when required as I understand my abilities and limitations as a healthcare practitioner. If I don’t think I can help you I will do my best to find someone that can.
I have experience in treating a wide range of musculoskeletal complaints from headaches, neck and shoulder pain to sports injuries or pregnancy related pain.
Throughout my treatments I use a variety of different techniques such as soft tissue (massage), joint mobilisation and manipulation, myofascial techniques and taping. I combine these techniques with exercise prescription and lifestyle advice to give patients the tools to make informed changes to improve their health and well being and avoid reinjury. I understand that every patient is different and tailor my treatment plans to suit the individual.
I have a keen interest in strength training and pilates and am currently completing a Diploma in Professional Pilates Instruction.
After growing up in Castlemaine, I am thrilled to be able to offer Osteopathy to my local community.
Inta Krumins
My massage journey began at Evolve College, where I obtained certifications in Relaxation and Remedial massage. I also hold a Bachelor of Fine Art and Visual Culture. I’ve always valued the healing power of massage, the therapeutic quality of touch and its role in overall well-being. I enjoy the practice of relaxation massage for its rhythm and intuitive flow, and remedial massage for its scientific basis and ability to target specific muscle groups. I’m also inspired by spirituality, art, poetry and community. I love working in these creative fields where a collective understanding is shared. I feel my creative art work balances and compliments my joy of working with people as a therapist. I look forward to supporting the health of the Castlemaine community alongside the skilled osteopaths at the Barker St clinic.
